(Reuters) – The U.S. Coast Guard closed the Mississippi River to all vessel site visitors on Thursday close to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after a towboat sank within the primary commodity transport waterway.
The river was once closed from mile marker 224.five to 226 whilst a Coast Guard group displays the water for any indicators of air pollution and an Military Corps of Engineers staff searches for the sunken towboat.
4 staff individuals aboard the vessel Michelle Ann have been rescued without a reported accidents, the Coast Guard stated.
